Abstract Art!!

Today in class we discussed some of the elements of design for abstract art.
We also discussed more controlled use of our brushes.
Therefore, we painted with a small #2 round to make our spirals, dots, lines and zig zags which were evenly scattered around our paper.  This sunny sky looks like it is raining flowers, hearts and spirals.
Anyone who is finished early can do other exploratory projects.  This young lady had a lot of fun jabbing her paper with lots of different colors with a big stiff brush.
We also discussed needing large, medium, small and tiny blocks of color in various areas all over our paintings, this adds interest.  But, I notice that this painting is upside down.......

There we are!  Now I can see the turtles!
You can see the varied shapes and sizes spread out all over the page.  Then we painted our abstract one color at a time and made sure each color was repeated in different areas all over the painting.
Here is my example, various sized shapes, varied color placement, straight lines, curling lines, dots etc.  You get the idea.
