Today in class we discussed some of the elements of design for abstract art. |
We also discussed more controlled use of our brushes. |
Anyone who is finished early can do other exploratory projects. This young lady had a lot of fun jabbing her paper with lots of different colors with a big stiff brush. |
We also discussed needing large, medium, small and tiny blocks of color in various areas all over our paintings, this adds interest. But, I notice that this painting is upside down....... |
There we are! Now I can see the turtles! |
You can see the varied shapes and sizes spread out all over the page. Then we painted our abstract one color at a time and made sure each color was repeated in different areas all over the painting. |
Here is my example, various sized shapes, varied color placement, straight lines, curling lines, dots etc. You get the idea. |
